Thai artisan Khun Pacume speaks of her work: 'I learned to carve during the rice seasons while we waited for harvest, from my father who learned from his father. Our family works together with cousins as time allows and there are jobs to carve. I create some of my own designs but most work is by customer design or modifications of my original designs. Working with wood is peaceful and allows our family to earn extra money between seasons

I Love this table/stool....... It is one of a kind
I love the stool/bedside/couch side table... it is rich looking.. one of a kind and uniqui.. It does have some cracks yet that is part of its charm....it is not perfect it is a gorgeous piece of carved wood made by human hands not spit out by a machine... just gorgeous....

lovely with reservations
The Walnut twist stool, which I'm using as a side table, has wonderful flows of dark and light wood, and depending on how its viewed, gives different pleasing visual presentations. That said, my first thought out of the box was to return it, as there were deep, gaping cracks 4 and 5 inches long running across the bottom and from the top down the side. I was prepared to see some small cracks in the wood, but this was beyond "natural" and into "defective". I experimented with turning the large cracked top to the bottom and facing the worst lower side offender towards the chair where I wanted to position it, and decided that what now could be viewed wasn't so bad that it outweighed the overall beauty of the piece.

Hand carved Twist Stool
Received this and it is exactly as pictured. I love it and it fits in perfectly for what I need....a little "table" that may be used as extra seating at the dining table but I bet the grandkids will fight over who gets to sit on it!

All things wood....
I have worked in the furniture industry and knew what to expect with ordering any piece that is all natural wood. Its natural characteristics are what I love most about them (wooden furniture). This piece is more than I expected and is absolutely beuatiful. I am sure that some of my friends will be ordering this piece as they have asked me for the link to this item. Its worth every penny!

Organic and unique!
This is one of the most unique and beautiful pieces I have ever seen! I am using it as a tub-side table in my newly remodeled spa bathroom. It works so well with the neutral tones and is well made. The rustic table/stool provides the perfect counterpoint to the luxurious appointments of the bathroom. I am so very happy with the product! PS~ There was only one crack in the entire piece and it is minimal. This piece is a true work of art!!

Unique piece!
I get many compliments on it and it is perfect between two chairs in front of a low window. It is sturdy enough to hold a taller lamp and was just what I expected. I love it!

Overall, I am happy with this product. The quality and workmanship is quite good but you should be aware that there can be major imperfections which are natural to the wood used. In the one we received, there is a large knot in the wood on the 'table top' which cuts off one of the corners of the stool. That being said, I actually like the way it looks so natural. My only complaint is that I thought I was getting two stools because of the picture of two stools and considering the price. I guess I should have read the description closer and not assumed that the picture was accurate. I needed two small tables for matching slipper chairs in our living room so I bought two more of the smaller stools and put this one in our family room.

Unique and natural
As some of the other reviewers have said, this wood has natural cracks in it. If that bothers you, pick another product! I just put the end with the largest crack on the bottom. I also love the oil rubbed finish. Be sure to take measurements of your space and compare them to the size listed as there are many similar stools/tables of varying heights offered. I had a small space that needed an end table so someone could put down a drink or snack. This was a perfect fit for me. The style is unique and can fit in many types of decor including a contemporary house like mine.
