    Story Behind the Art
    'I am Wayan Rendah of Bali. I started to learn to sculpt from my father at the age of eight. Balinese woodcarving touches me very deeply. I have learned a variety of arts in Bali, such as gamelan dance, but carving a piece of wood gives me an incomparable sensation.

    'I studied with Wayan Purna. I wanted to be able to create the ideas I had in my head. As time went by, I was able to bring out my ideas by selecting different types of wood and concentrating on the themes that could satisfy my creative desires. Exploring the abstract world refreshes my mind in creating new carvings. The mind and inspiration are two amazing things that encourage me to create special works of art.'

      The statue is beautifully crafted and even more lovely than the photo. The graceful lines on this smooth stylistic carving are eye-catching and have garnered appreciative comments from everyone who has seen it. It arrived earlier than expected and in perfect condition. I would highly recommend this to anyone interested on Zen, yoga, Indonesian art or merely fine crafting.

      Beautiful, good quality piece. It is going in my meditation/yoga room and is perfect. I actually bought a "his and hers", getting two from this artist. Anyone that has seen it has been equally impressed by it. It is even more amazing in person. Love it.
