Product Features:
India artisan Suresh Garg is a woodcarver who also works in marble. 'I've learned from my own experiences,' he says. 'I started with ivory and switched to sandalwood. The art of making sandalwood boxes is extremely intricate and detail oriented, thus requiring skilled workmanship. I am the guiding factor for my craftsmen, who create exquisite boxes based on my designs. We are deeply involved with sandalwood and also work with kadam wood. The intricate carving is done with an iron needle.'
