The excellent news is that I ordered two lamps which arrived within 3 days. The lamps are very attractive and a perfect color for my décor. While the lamps happen to be two different colors, I knew that there might be color variations and they are within an acceptable range of variation since the lamps will not be side by side. However, on one of the lamps the porcelain sits totally crooked and twisted on the wood base. While there is a nut on the bottom of the lamp, loosing it does not seem to provide any benefit to straightening the porcelain on the base. The most disappointing aspect however is that the lamp clearly shows maximum wattage of 60 watts, while the description on the website says it is a three-way light, with a maximum of 100 watts. There is a big difference between 60 watts and 100 watts. I will likely keep the lamps despite these shortcomings because they are attractive. But if I saw them in a store with the twisted base and the 60 watt maximum, I would not have purchased them. The price is reasonable, but not bargain basement. Thus, the quality issue is disappointing.
I wanted to use the lamp in my study, which looks out over trees. I see birds right next to my window as I work. I have beautiful wrought iron lamps with vines and birds already in the room. This one adds charm and color -- the muted tones and simple design is pleasing from a distance, and the details revealed by a closer look contribute to a the indoor sense of nature I try to create. The lamp looks as though it would cost dearly, yet this price was just right.
