Fine Chinese home furnishings created by artisans using traditional methods of China's Fujian Province. Built with Philippine mahogany and elm wood, these decor items feature seven layers of lacquer to create a complex, beautiful and sturdy surface. Each piece is then antiqued for a gorgeous, authentic look. The resulting surface has a matte finish, in place of the usual glossy finish. These pieces are based on traditional designs steeped in ancient Asian history, and exhibit many common natural and cultural motifs, often adapted from ancient and beloved Asian art. Because of Fujian's proximity to Japan, many of these designs show a Japanese influence. Motifs include birds, animals and flowers, all of which are meaningful in Buddhist- and Confucian-influenced cultures.

don't bother
This is a big wooden chest. It weighs about 50 lbs when you put three bottles of sine in it. There is no handle so unless you are looking for a decorative box - this is no wine carrier.
