Story Behind the Art:
Ilala Weavers is situated at Hluhluwe within the province of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. The organization was established some 30 years ago, with a clear vision and objective of revitalizing and enhancing the age-old Zulu tradition of handcrafts, which at the time were in danger of being lost forever.
The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.

This is the second Zulu basket I have purchased from Novica. Both were one-of-a-kind and I wish that Overstock would let consumers know that. Therefore, the piece that one is viewing online is THE ACTUAL PIECE that will arrive in the mail. I wish that Overstock would purchase more of these. I collect baskets and I must say that for the price and quality these are a tremendous bargain. Also, as a collector, it would help if Overstock would ALWAYS list the artist's name. BOTH BASKETS ARE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!Read More
