Wow, what a comfortable hammock, it has been so enjoyable. The colors are awesome and look brilliant in the sun. It hung easily (my 11 year old son hung mine up!) and went up in a snap. Am worried about the ends of the hammock - fearful that a foot might easily damage with a snag or tear but so far, all is well.
I LOVE Mayan Hammocks. But this is just far too narrow. It's recommended that one should lie diagonally on a Mayan hammock but this isn't possible with this hammock. I will be returning this and then buying a "family" size hammock for $49 from another firm. The colors are beautiful but who cares when you can't actually use the hammock?
Look at the picture. See how the hammock takes on the shape of a small boat/conoe? Well, the one I received is like an upside down canoe. The strings that run through the middle are significantly shorter than those that form the outer edges. So, instead of the hammock cupping around your body when you get into it, it's taught in the middle, while the edges are slack and fall to the side. Also, the weave is very loose and the diameter of the threads is very small. This product will not last -- even if you could find a position stable enough to want to use it. I lived in El Salvador for 3 years. I know what a quality hammock should be. This is not one. The only thing going for this product is the size and the trueness of the colors displayed. One last thing. The product comes with incomplete directions. It includes 2 pieces of rope that are to be used to connect teach end of the hammock to the hooks. Detailed instructions are given that show how to loop the rope through the hammock, but do not show how the ends of the rope should be tied off. Someone who has not done this before would be lost.
