On the plus side, the colors are rich and pretty true to what I viewed on line. The design is simple and very appealing. On the down side, it's a batik and if you're not careful creating a batik, the dye can drip or transfer to places it's not supposed to go, namely the beige background. On this particular piece, there were unintended drip spots on the background. I was also a little disappointed in the quality of the fabric. It was more lightweight and of a cheaper quality than I expected, making it difficult to hang as a tapestry. You want enough weight in a tapestry so that it can hold itself flat on the wall without flapping around if you open the door to the room. Overall, it was overpriced for the quality., but the design is terrific.
I was in Zambia in summer of 08 and bought a few wall hanging that we smaller but similar. I wanted to finish off the decor in my home but I wanted something similar. This piece fit the bill perfectly. I'm not sure when I will be to Zambia again so it is nice to display this all proudly.
I love my purchase of this wall art. the colors are vibrant and clearly defined. I previously thought of using this in my den but changed my mind when I unwrapped it. It is now hanging over my bed. It gives my room a presence of happiness and calmness at the same time. I am enjoy it every time I walk into my bedroom.
