Do the legs on the bench have bumpers or padding to protect the floor? thank you
Although the wood may be reclaimed, it doesn't really have a typical or at least consistent 'distressed' look to it. There are a few small rectangular and round patches (which are kind of odd looking) as well as a few places where the old paint is still visible (which are nice looking but a bit to sparse). I added a coat of beeswax to the wood, which really gave the wood a richer look and nicer feel. The metal legs are quite attractive as they definitely have a 'distressed' look to them. The pads on the bottom of the legs are stuck on with adhesive. They were not centered and came loose easily. I just re-centered them, and with the table and benches pushing down on them, it's not a problem....

Story Behind the Art:
This product was created in North Western India. Once the British removed its armed forces from the region in the late 40s, a majority of the industries available for the local economy disappeared with them. The indigenous people went back to the traditional crafts and furniture manufacturing that they had known for generations. This industry has truly created a renaissance in economic growth in the region.
The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.

This is a great table and bench set that is unique (in that i haven't seen it in a thousand different places) with a hip industrial look. The wood is solid and warm with steel legs. the description says it came from railroad tracks in India and i have no reason to doubt it.Read More
Gorgeous! Easy to assemble. Even came with wrenches for assembly. I applied five coats of carnuba wax to deepen the color and add richness. The grain is fantastic. I like the bench concept. Benches can be moved for seating elsewhere, or even as coffe tables.Read More

Is this set for indoor or outdoor use?
Hello kimilee935, this is not designed for outdoor use. Thank you for shopping with us.
Do the benches each seat 2 or 3?
Hello stefaniie, This would be tight with 3 people and comfortable with 2 people. Thank you for shopping with us!
Is the steel component gray or black? I can't tell from the photos. Thanks.
The monitor we have shows gray.
Is the table top made of one solid slab of teak and what is the thickness? Is the steel painted and would this hold up to outside use?
This is not one piece but many. The thickness of the table top is approximately 13⁄4" at the edges and thinner (about 1⁄2") in the middle. It is not designed to be an outdoor piece. One could certainly use it as an outdoor set, but outdoor weather would substantially limit the pieces' expected lifespan.
