Story Behind the Art:
This hand-carved piece and many others come from Wayan Murdi who works primarily with rain tree wood (suar wood). He began carving on his own in 1985. All across Indonesia, family skills are often transmitted, from father to son and he always wanted to follow the path of his own father. He hopes his two sons will also appreciate the art so the legacy can continue. Wayan worked with his father until he had enough money to open his own workshop. There are 15 people working with him from his village of Mas. Asian culture inspire his artwork.

Beautiful
I have been looking for a Ganesha wood carving for a long time and was very pleased to find this one on the O. It is beautiful, has detailed carving, and is just the right size. It makes me smile to look at him....Thank you fot bringing us these wonderful works of art from Indonesia, and these fabulous craftmen. Highly recommend!

We fell in love with this from the moment we opened it. It did still have the aroma of freshly stained wood so took extra care not to stand it on our new wool area rug.. It will be very simple to hang also. The piece is not overly heavy so no wall mount will be necessary when mounting. Very happy with this purchase..

I love this piece. It is just gorgeous in my home. I have a lot of Indian and Buddhist inspired decor and this piece just ties it all together. I love it! I will buy more from the seller.
