Story Behind the Art:
In 1993, Pramana Suantara opened his workshop in the small village of Ubud that has since produced some of the finest examples of Balinese artisanship. Yet it was Pramana's experience as a caregiver for the Red Cross that inspired his philanthropic mission. For ten years he provided aid to the sick and suffering people of Indonesia, traveling from Badung to Tabanan. During this time, when opportunity afforded him, Pramana would often sit and reflect on the Balinese beaches, collecting the hued and motley shells born from the azure sea.

Beautiful, whimsical ring
I purchased the earrings as a birthday gift for a friend and when I saw that there was a matching ring I decided to buy that for her Christmas gift. The ring is not so large that it will be awkward on her hand. It appears to be well crafted.

This Purchase Brought Such Fun
My Grandchildren and I have a little "Turtle Thing" that has been going on for years. I will not bore you with the story, but suffice it to say, whenever the youngest, four years, comes to my house, she goes straight to my jewelry drawer to admire the wee "plastic turtle" with the bobbing head. When I saw this ring, I was amazed at how much it looked like the turtle in the drawer. I purchased it and now share our "Turtle Memories" everytime I wear it. Girlfriend really loved it! I think its a great ring overall, the only part I would fix is the actual ring part isn't solid with the turtle part... So it seems like it could break off without much effort. Other than that it's a great piece and I would recommend anyone who likes turtles and rings to get one. : )
