'My name is Made Yuliawati, born near Celuk village, which has been known throughout the world for handcrafted silver and gold. My mother is a silversmith. It was she who taught me the art. I was really excited to put tiny silver pieces together and create new designs. Silver work did not keep me from studying, and by making silver jewelry I could pay my tuition. In 1998, I married a man who is also a silversmith. His educational background in interior design and mine in economic management have made wonderful working partners.'

Less than expected
I have been searching in vain to replace a solid, engraved sterling cuff bracelet that I lost years ago. I had hoped that this item might do the trick. Unfortunately the weight of this bracelet was one piece of useful info not included in the Overstock description. That would have clued me in before ordering. In the end, this is a nice piece of jewelry, in and of itself, but it is much more delicate than I was hoping for. Plus the open-work of the filigree has an unfortunate whitish color which does not look like true silver. I am hoping this will tarnish away with time and use.
