Don't get me wrong, this IS a beautiful necklace, heavy weight and wonderful silversmithing. But, the carnelian stone that was in mine is not red as pictured but more brown. When I wear it and it lies against my skin or clothing, the stone looks chocolate-colored and not red. The only way I can get my stone to appear red is when I hold it up to bright light and allow the light to shine directly through it. What is pictured is not what I received. I'd send it back or try to exchange it for another but I think my return/exchange period has expired.

This was a gift for my sister. I am very happy to say that she truly loves this necklace and the decorative box it came in. She also said that the workmanship was excellent. I am very happy with this selection.One of the reasons I chose this one over another of this type, which I also liked very much is because the chain would have been too short. The length of chain on the one I chose was 18.5 inches which was a better length. I would certainly recommend this item.
