      Being half Pakistani, I am familiar with Indian style jewelry and designs. This ring is very well made in spite of the fact that it's handmade. I ordered this ring mainly because in my culture the carnelian/agate stone is believed to be a very "lucky" stone. It's said to have great powers of luck for the wearer. Especially when it touches the skin and the darker the stone the more powerful. The stone I have is a dark red with just a hint of brown. The same color as "henna." It's about 10mm in size and I like the way it's been smoothly polished into a dome-shape or rounded like a cabacon and not faceted. That's what makes it so interresting. The ring is a good size overall, and I ordered my ring size(7) that fits my finger just perfectly. It has great detailing and very nicely made-workmanship wise. The design is very fancy. Looks like a showpiece on the finger. I would only suggest some tiny stones around the circular design. The ring might look much more beautiful. The ring is not very heavy. Only a little weight because of the stone maybe? I call this ring a royal ring because it looks like a ring only Indian Queens or Princess's wear!       I thought this ring was going to be gorgeous, but I wasn't real happy with it. The stone was much bigger that I thought, compared to the setting. And the stone was raised somewhat. This ring was ok, but not a favorite.

      This is ring is very pretty. It is quite large in size, bigger than the picture shows. The stone appears darker that the photo also, but it still is a lovely ring and a nice piece.

      Wow! This ring came to me only 3 days after placing my order! It is a really beautiful ring; looks just like the picture. I like it very much and enjoy wearing it! I have only one very slight problem with it: the stone is set lopsided (one side of the stone sits higher than the other side.) But even that doesn't take away from the beauty of this ring. It sort of adds to the unique character of the ring. I would recommend this ring to anybody who loves carnelian. I have ordered other rings made in India, and have found that the workmanship is true quality. I wouldn't purchase rings from anywhere else but Overstock.com!

    • Carnelian Ring

      Overall the ring was a very nice ring. The center stone was a nice stone and the workmanship on the top was really nice. I was a little let down though when I turned it over and looked underneath the cabachon, the Silver band was not a solid piece that connected together. Otherwise it looks very nice on!!!!
