Story Behind the Art:
'From the time I was a boy, I was attracted to art,' recalls Alejandro de Esesarte. 'When I was 20, I became an ecologist and defender of nature, and this is when I began to create animals in metal. My technique is similar to cutout metal, but more rudimentary. From this, I became inspired and started working in metal for its versatility. Today I have a workshop, a cockatoo named Coco and a cactus collection. Those are all the tools I need to continue working.'

Mermaid Song
I am so happy with this purchase! I was a little nervous ordering this before seeing it in person, but was pleasantly surprised when i opened it. The item was packaged very securely and arrived in perfect condition. The steel is sturdy but has a little 'give' due to the depth of the various strands of hair. The colors are vibrant, her hair has blonde streaks, which just adds to the beauty of this true piece of art. I have it hanging on a pale yellow wall so her blue fin really contrasts nicely. I actually loved this so much that i ordered the Shy Mermaid too, so now I have a pair of them! If i could upload a picture i would share.
