Based in the village of Zenabwork, Ethiopia, artisan-crafted footwear is made using only eco-sensible materials. The design began with an idea that the creation of shoes could be a platform for inspiration and hope in a land that needs both. The artisans set out to re-imagine and redefine the traditional Ethiopian 'selate shoe', or rubber tire sole shoe, in dynamic and vibrant new fashions. Employing the highly marginalized people of Ethiopia, the artisan intends to create something that is authentically local, but with a truly universal flavor. With a unique sensibility, they use the traditional Ethiopian art of hand-spinning and hand-looming organic cotton into the finest, artisan-crafted footwear.

Misleading Size
The sandals were nice as well as the price. However; after reviewing the one comment where the other person stated that we should order a size smaller than normal I did that. I decided to order the size 8 even though I wear a 9; the sandals arrived and they were the same size as the box. The sandals that were sent was a size 41 which I am assuming was an 11. I think it should be stated on this site that the sizes are European. The sandals were so cheap that it didn't benefit me sending it back, I then gave it to a girlfriend who in turn loves it. Wish I was able to keep it for myself. I do not feel comfortable ordering another one.

Way to big
I bought these shoes because I thought that they woudl be a fun addition to my wardrobe. I got them and I usually wear an 8 1/2 but got an 8 and they were enourmous. I even checked to make sure that they were womens and not mens. They do not fit comfortable because of the strap and they were just too big. Maybe if I would have been able to try them on before purchasing them I would have been more happy but I wouldn't even try to order another pair without trying them on. They did seem quality but the size wasn't.
