This piece hangs on a chocolate wall which enables the cooling turquoise colors to really pop. While I was unable to take advantage of the larger size, I am pleased with the dimensions since the whole piece is just the half of the face. The close up of the face really weights the piece and enables one to take it all in and pay attention to the art and not the size. Don't misunderstand - the artwork is not small. I was just originally out for something larger to accomodate nine foot ceilings and am pleased with how well this purchase turned out. The texture, due to it being an oil paining on canvas, is really nice! Despite being something ordered off the interent and not being a one of a kind piece, it really will give you the feeling that you have a gallery show piece in your home. You cannot tell from the online photo, but the artist made use of some gold paint that is subtle; makes certain parts seem to shimmer. The shading around the eyes, nose and mouth do not appear as flat in person as they do in the photo.

The painting is fantastic. The colors & texture are exactly what I was looking for. It has a fairly heavy or "thick" appearing texture, with raised "splatters" or areas of graininess in the paint that give a unique appearance. The artist gets 5 stars. The mounting, however, gets only 3 stars. It is not tightly stretched over the frame, so it has several waves or wrinkles. These really take away from the overall appearance.

I love this painting. I love the oil on canvas, the colors, and how you can see the brush strokes. I ordered it because the larger size was sold out, however this in the smaller size was available. To my surprise, once the painting arrived, it is actually much larger than expected. It is a beautiful, calming piece with great colors and it fits well in our formal living room/sitting room. It is the perfect piece that brings the room together. I am glad I purchased this art.

Good quality except left side of wood onto which the canvas art is stapled is slightly bent making the edge not exactly straight. The flaw is noticeable to a critical eye but the painting itself is quite beautiful. The item was very well packaged so I don't believe it was damaged in shipping. I have chosen not to go through the hassle of an exchange transaction as I can live with this imperfection and am still very happy with my purchase.

Okay, so when I saw this, something about it just spoke to me. I liked the colors and had a space where it would fit perfectly. And upon opening it, I was pleased it's very accurately represented by the photo on the web site. Couldn't help feeling though that the price for the quality was too high. After much deliberation I decided to keep it and I'm very happy with my decision.

It should read: 24 WIDE by 36 in height. The width & height is inverted in the description. I will need to return this product which is a shame. I love it otherwise! Maybe the artist will consider making the same exact product BUT wider than taller??? thanks!

We love this painting and kept trying to find a place for it. We finally found the perfect place and ordered it. It was STUNNING! More beautiful that even anticipated. We loved that it was a real piece of art for such a great price. You can tell that it is hand painted, signed, and has an awesome texture. Since they are hand painted, there are natural variations in each piece. Ours has more blue on the left, some of which is covering Buddha's ear. Also, our Buddah has lips that are not blue. So, if you know that piece is unique and one-of-a-kind, you will love it. If you want it to be EXACTLY like the photo, keep looking. We love that no one will have one exactly like ours! :)

I really like the beautiful colors and the texture, but I think mine is broken. Each night I lick the eyelids and spin around three times chanting, "get back in the boat, ***!" but nothing has happened yet. I've been at it for two weeks now and still no baby, so I guess I'll kep trying. Because of this apparent default, I have downgraded the rating from excellent to good. That said, it looks great on my wall.

i feel in love w ths pic whn i saw it online! loved everthng abt it! whn it arrived, it was not what i expected at all. the measurements were way off. instead of being wider it was taller, face was not as near as pretty, and colors were not as wht it looked like online.

I fell in love with this painting in a store in San Diego and was planning to have it shipped to Oregon. I checked on Overstock.com and found this painting at a much lower price. The quality and appeal of this art was exactly what I hoped for. It hangs in our living room between 2 sconces and I found a beautiful metal leafed wall hanging that we placed above the Buddha painting... it is reminiscent of a bodhi tree and works nicely because their hung together on a very tall wall.

Overall the painting is beautiful. The colors are rich as shown in the photo and there is a great deal of texture that adds to the painting's character. One disappointment I have is with the quality of the canvas. It was not stretched tightly around the frame and therefore, it sags in parts when hanging on the wall. I have it hanging in my office so I wasn't too concerned with it, but if I had bought this for my home, I would have returned it.

I love the picture, however the blue in the picture is different from the real thing. Also there is a heavy texture to the painting that you can't see in the picture. The quality is very nice and I do receive a lot of compliments.

I was looking for something that would give me a sense of a release from a hard days work and at the same time something beautiful to look at . With this purchase I got what I was looking for. This canvas is hung above the staircase leading to my master bedroom and it looks amazing ( Zen feeling). "I sincerely love it"

I ordered the small Budda face from the picture I saw on the site. What I got was a copy of the original. The lines, curves, face and color variations are so lovely on the orginal photo on site. It is clear as a "day" that the one i received is not even close. More like a student of the first artist failing to capture the serien and detailed color variatioins and movement. Sorry this has to be sent back and I'll settled for my second choice. Really too bad, a waste of my time and overstock's efforts. I hope they don;t pull this again as I've very happy with the many other items in different depts. that I have received.
