These handcrafted pieces were made by the Turkoman people in the villages in the Northern Part of Afghanistan. They create these beautiful pieces of jewelry and then take them to sell at the bazaar, and the profits help support themselves and their families.

Inexpensive isn't alway an indicator of quality
I purchased alot of jewelry for my wife this Christmas. This was far from being the most expensive but it was the gift she liked the most. Good quality for a really good price. Happy wife, happy life.

Pretty red color
My father thougth it looked very cheap when he opened the box. I thougth it was fine. When I wore it over a black shirt, he changed his mind and thought it really look nice. I'm very happy with it and have gotten quite a few compliments on it.

True Red Beauty
This necklace is true red and lovely...I waited too long to order it, because i wasn't sure how it was measured, or how it would lay on my neck. That being said, it really is 20.5 inches long and falls in a gentle curve across the mid chest, with the teardrops splaying beautifully, not in a straight line as shown in one of the photos. Each teardrop is 1 1/8 inches long, making them noticeable, but not overbearing. The piece itself is very well made and all stones match in color and size. It is very difficult to find a truly red genuine stone necklace at a reasonable price, but this beauty fits the bill. The fact that it was lovingly hand-made is icing on the cake!

- How accurate was the sizing? accurate, although somewhat confusing, since stated in inches for length and mm for width (which is actually the length of each teardrop).

So-So.
Wasn't as high of quality as I am used to. A lot of colored string used for the necklace part and I guess I expected it to be beads of some sort. I returned it because it wasn't as nice as I thought it would be - but mostly because the strings on one side were twisted and the other side was not and that didn't look right. I may have kept it if that hadn't been that way. Not sure.
