Lai tells of her passion for jewelry: 'I love what I do because it is fun for me. I've been approached by customers speaking in many different languages. I don't understand their exact words but I have been able to understand their meaning because they're talking about the art that I have designed and am passionate about. I have this understanding of how the colors as well as patterns and designs of stones come together. It is not hard for me to visualize how to put the natural stones into these floral designs because I love doing it!'
