Story Behind the Art:
Yuni Kristina learned the art of batik when she was very young from her mother. 'She has been making batik at home in Java for over 23 years, while waiting each day for my father to come home from the sea. We still design together, especially the floral and bird motifs that are typical in Pekalongan batik. My husband Rieckey also helps me a lot, but as a local Balinese woman, I'm very proud of the fact that I can have the career that I love, and to be able to provide for myself and my family.'

Description of the batik shawl was "true blue."
I'm so happy with this purchase, the batik shawl looks and feels glamorous; it's something I can wear year round.
- Did the color match the color displayed onsite? The blue color was exactly as noted, however what appears as white in the photograph is more of a cream-light beige color.
- How is the quality of the product? Quality of the silk shawl: well made and feels wonderful.
- Did the product fit true to size? Exactly as stated on the web site.
