Their skills of hand-painting, hand-rubbed lacquering, and hand-tooling have been passed down for many generations. Many artists are hired out of semi-retirement to work from home, training the next generation as master craftsmen. Their craft and culture have survived many Chinese dynasties.

I ordered the blue, but it is really a pale green-blue. The light filters through, evenly, but no images. It was easy to hang and more substantial then the picture suggests. I love the effect.
