Story Behind the Art:
India has a very long history of woodcrafts with its prime time during the Vijayanagar Empire in Southern India. This particular piece was handcrafted by Mr. Bajaj and his family in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India, and all profits from the sales of these items will help his family to continue creating such beautiful pieces of furniture.

A unique table for my needs
What a great find! I needed to replace a large formal dining set with something smaller and more casual. I love the unique style of this table. The distressed wood may not suit every buyer, but I appreciate it. The metal legs hold a strong appeal and help the table stand out with a subtly industrial style. I've had fun browsing for chairs to complement this piece. You could go with many styles! I just ordered the Haldana Taupe Dining Chairs from Overstock, and plan to place two on either side *fingers crossed*. Assembly was simple - three bolts for each leg! I went wild and pulled out my ratchet, but you wouldn't need to since a wrench was included. The only challenge I faced was righting the table once I had it assembled. After about 30 seconds I had it done (female here), but it would have been easier with an extra set of hands. I can easily see this table sticking with me through the years.

Horrified - wood infested with larvae
The first table we received arrived in very damaged packaging; the surface of the table had bird droppings and gouges on it. The metal legs were dented and misshapen so the table couldn't be assembled. Overstock was very helpful and immediately shipped a replacement. They said Fedex would come pick up the damaged table within 10 days. (They actually showed up a month later, and then said because we hadn't boxed it up - how are we supposed to box up a giant table??? - they couldn't take it, so we still have the original damaged table. What are we supposed to do with it??) The replacement was in good shape and looked great until today - when beetles started coming out of it. We noticed little pinholes with a fine tan powder piled up over them a couple days ago, and then today actually witnessed tiny beetles coming out of the pinholes while eating dinner. Googling revealed that they are powderpost beetles and they lay eggs in lumber that isn't appropriately treated and kiln dried before finishing. Adult beetles chew their way out in early summer a few years later. SO GROSS. I don't buy furniture with the expectation I will have to fumigate when it gets here!!!

Not your average table
This is a heavy, solid piece with a lot of character for a great price. I use it as a desk, but it would be a showpiece in any loft-style dining area. The tabletop has a beautiful grain and a warm finish. Despite its weight, I found it easy to assemble. If turning it over to assemble, be sure to lay a blanket on the floor to keep the tabletop from getting scratched and the iron legs from marking the floor.

Gorgeous table
This table is gorgeous and unique. It's heavy! Solid wood construction, solid steel legs that bolt on very simply to the top. The sheesham wood has a unique and lovely grain. Overall it's a beautiful (large) table that will get many compliments. Unfortunately ours was damaged during shipping, and we had to work with Overstock to file an insurance claim. Customer service was very helpful after I sent pictures of the damage, and arranged everything with the least inconvenience to me.

Great price on a piece that looks one of a kind
My only complaint about the table was that the first one arrived extremely damaged, much to my disappointment. Overstock's customer service, as usual, was first rate, offering me the option of a refund, or replacement. Then, Fedex didn't pick up the old table when they dropped the new one, so they left the new one on a landing down a flight of stairs, meaning this 120 lb girl had to drag a 100 lb box up a flight of stairs, alone. After much annoyance and nearly having a stroke from the heat in the unairconditioned stairwell, once I finally got it inside & opened & assembled it, I was extremely pleased with my decision. This is a fantastic, heavy table that I think will last me for many years. Once again, Overstock made me a very happy shopper.

ARRIVED DAMAGED - TWICE
I had to order this table twice. The table top is assembled from several long planks of wood glued together. The first one arrived with the plank at the center arching and spitting away from the rest, leaving sharp edges. It was a result of poor craftsmanship and not poor shipping, although it should be added that both tables very VERY poorly packaged. If the item had been checked before shipment this could have been avoided. The second (replacement) table came quickly. This time only a small part of the wood top had not been sanded and sealed properly, leaving a sharp and jagged edge of potential splinters about 8" long. Needing a table now, (without enough time to wait for ANOTHER replacement or a different table), I was forced to find a way to repair it myself. The result is less threatening, but certainly left a permanent mark of repair on the surface of the table. I would definitely NOT recommend purchasing this table, nor anything else produced (or packaged) by its manufacturer, until they increase their quality control and packaging standards.

Love the Industrial look
This is the coolest looking table. I have already received several compliments. The wood finish is a bit distressed, so do not expect a perfectly smooth, unflawed top. I coordinated with seagrass woven chairs and the look is beautiful.

Great table, one drawback
I really love the table, the color is amazing, the warmest shades of dark wood. The quality is ok, I guess you get what you pay for. The paint of one of the legs is chipping but thankfully the 'distressed' look covers it up a bit. One thing I am really annoyed about and why i give only three stars is that one of the support frames has lots of very tiny holes with the result that sawdust is falling out of them all the time. Every time I put something on the table, the vibration is enough to have another round of dust fall on my chairs. Hence, they are literally always overed in saw dust, I cannot sit down without wiping them... I just tried to seal everything with wax and hope that will do it.

Beautiful table
I love this table. If you're going for a modern rustic look, but not too bulky, consider this table. It's sturdy, the top has a nice glaze finish to it. Assembly was a cinch.
