Story Behind the Art:
Working with more than 100 individual carvers in Machakos, Kenya, Jedando Modern Handicrafts markets products primarily made of wood and bone worldwide. Carving is a tradition in Kenya with the children learning the craft from their parents. Carved by hand using only rudimentary hand tools, olive wood bowls, salad serving sets and animal-shaped napkin rings take shape from pieces of olive wood, mahogany and mpingo or African ebony.
What is Worldstock?
The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.

I just received these bangles and immediately jumped for joy. The colors are so vibrant, especially the red. I loved them and came to this site to order more as gifts for my family. I am disappointed though because the price has doubled since I purchased my bangles last week. I'm heavy so the bands are a little tight going over my hand, but there is still a small amount of room on my wrist so they can be moved around. I REALLY wanted to purchase more because they are so beautiful, but ..... I also wanted to purchase the other colors because these bangles are perfect.

The Massai Bangles are beautiful, good craftsmanship, color and as pictured. I previously purchased Massai Bangles while living in Africa and the ones from Overstock.com are authentic and just as beautiful. The price can't be beat.

GoOD LOOKING!!!
I loved these bangles. They are unique and show good craftsmanship. The colors are bright and beautiful. They were too large for my wrist (I have small hands) but will give them as a present and I am sure someone will be delighted to wear them. The story enclosed about the artisan is a bonus. I am glad that Overstock has taken a stand in fair trade.

Good but not as good as I expected
I have looked at these numerous times and finally decided to buy. I am pleased to be helping the Maasi women help their families and if you don't look closely at the bracelets they are very nice. I will purchase another set of different colors. All three were a little different quality. The yellow was made the best and is of high quality. The blue was kind of loosely wrapped and there are a few spots that needed an extra bead. The red is larger than the rest and they probably used the standard number of bead they normally do. It could use a LOTmore beads. The tubing is visible through the entire thing so it is wrapped quite loosely. there are a few places where I can see the string for 1/8", 1/4" and even more of the string. I will not return them, but see if I can fix the red one on my own.

These are pretty bangles. You can wear them together, or one at a time. The price is more than reasonable.
