Story Behind the Art:
Lava stone can only be found in a volcanic area throughout Indonesia. These lava stone handcrafted items were made in a remote village north of Bali, Indonesia. These villagers work day and night to make these handcrafted items and sell them in the market. This is the only source of income for this remote village. The material for these handcrafted items are not always available all year round. When the rainy season comes, it is really hard to get these materials around the island.

I could tell that the candleholders were broken before I even opened the box. Once I opened it, there were pieces of lava stone all over the box, the counter, the floor. I only took the smallest candle holder out and it was cracked and pieces were flaking off all over the place. They're very lightweight and don't look like they are very durable. I immediately began the process of returning the item. It's a shame because the picture looks very pretty, but unfortunately the picture doesn't tell the whole story.
