Story Behind the Art
These marbleized alabaster votives are for those that don't favor the oridinary, monochrome look. They are handmade from pieces of alabaster taken from the seam between the limestone Egyptian bedrock and the open chambers where the alabaster formed through a process of evaporation. The result: a fascinating, non-traditional veining that makes a one-of-a-kind votive. Made in the same workshop for the past 12 years. Mr. Mahmoud Abdel Nabi, the artist, was born in the Egyptian countryside and moved to Cairo at an early age. Mr. Abdel Nabi has worked in the field of marble, alabaster and stone for most of his adult life.
What is Worldstock?
Alabaster products are manufactured by hand, using alabaster from every commercial quarry in Egypt. Alabaster is a natural, translucent marble which can vary in color from a clear lemon color to a rich shade of mango orange or even a very light cafe au lait. Each piece will be unique and variation from the photo should not be considered a flaw.

Very Pretty
These are very pretty when lit up. They have a warm glow to them. I don't mind them being imperfect at all, I think the imperfections makes them unique.

Expensive but lovely
These candle holders are elegant and sturdy. They are quite beautiful actually, although the workmanship on the inside of them is a bit shoddy (not flat inside). The price is a bit high for what you get, but I'd probably buy them again anyway.
