Story Behind the Art:
Mara, an accomplished painter, sculptor and ceramicist, studied engraving with the famous artist Alfredo Zalce, who painted many portraits of his lovely artist protege. After studying art in London, she began working with high-temperature ceramics and created wonderfully unique glazes for her pieces. She then went on to study with the Italian ceramist, Bruno Terese, in Italy. Mara has had numerous expositions of her original pieces in Europe, the United States and Mexico. Sadly, after a long illness, Mara passed away in November 2007. Since Ceramica Mara has always been an extended family operation, production of her fine works has continued. Mara's husband, children and loyal apprentices have consistently carried out day to day production.

Sent Wrong Mug Pattern
Unfortunately, I ordered this pattern (Desert) and the Mara Sunburst Mugs but received instead the mermaid & fish patterns...so, I returned the mermaid & fish mugs since they were not the mugs that I ordered. I didn't reorder because I was afraid they'd just send me the wrong pattern of mugs again (especially since I originally sent two separate orders - one for the Sunburst & one for the Desert - and both packages sent to me contained the wrong pattern).
- Did the color match the color displayed onsite? No - did not receive the pattern that I ordered
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Mugs looked fine but were the wrong pattern ;
- How accurate was the sizing? Sent the wrong pattern so product was not accurate
