Story Behind the Art:
These unique individually hand-painted candles are made by artists in Johannesburg, South Africa. The vivid colors reflect the variety of the South African landscape and its diverse cultures. Many of the designs are frequently reflect tribal patterns from which the artists come from. The artists who make these candles were previously unemployed but through their involvement in creating these candles, they are now in a safe environment which provides them with a decent wage and good working conditions.

Only One Pair
OOPS! We missed the fact that we would receive only one pair. Of course we were disappointed because we were looking forward to receiving the whole variety of the color we chose which was "Harvest Greens." That being said, the two candles are quite unique. However, they seemed rather costly and it is not likely that we will buy more.

South African Candles
Beautifully done. I bought 5 pairs of them and gave them as gifts, keeping one pair for myself. I bought them at $**** a pair. Would continue to buy more at that price.

nice looking candles
I would not recommend this product on Overstock to anyone only because I found similar ones, even more beautiful, for $$$ a piece at ***. Other than that the candles are great and they add a nice decorative touch and bring comfort to any homes.
