I love the plates but I WOULD NOT PUT ANY FOOD ON THEM FOR SAFETY REASONS!!!!! I would suggest to buy 'lead detector kit' and test the plates or anything that is ornate and that comes from third world countries and China. Why? because how sure are you that the plates are lead free? they would say anything to make a sale. When my Mom had the stroke, the lady next to her had been poisoned by eating pasta on a lead plate...so said the neurologist. After this incident, I bought the led detection kit and I test everything! The plates are pretty...nothing wrong with them...it is the safety I am concerned with.

I was intrigued by the description of this product - large driftwood fruit bowl - as it would fit so well with the theme in my house. I expected something that looked more like driftwood found on North American beaches which this clearly isn't. It doesn't remind me of driftwood but rather interesting pieced wood. Everyone who sees it comments as it's so striking and unusual. If you're looking for something organic and unique, look no farther. It would be interesting on a wall as well as on a surface.

I love these hand carved salad tongs. They are exactly the proper size for a dinner table. Usually you find salad servers and they are beautiful, but too long for the salad bowl. These are perfect and with such beautiful artistry.

This would be a nice platter when entertaining friends or just using to decorate your dining table. I would also recommend some of the additional items with the same design to further enhance your dining experience. I chose the mugs and sandwich plates myself, but will also get the large serving bowl.

I love the pattern of this product.... It is very pretty and solid, doesnt scratch and holds up well to oven microwave and dishwasher.... I was nervous at first about cutting meat with a sharp knife, doesnt scratch at all like my other mikasa dishes..... since each piece is hand made, you will find imperfections, but that is what hand made is.... not mass produced and perfect, but little differences that occur with each piece being hand done. Some pieces are not as vivid, but colors are a match, I only notice this as I am an artist and can tell these pieces are truly hand made. I have to purchase a little at a time, but I am almost complete with an 8 pc setup of all products that I use all the time as daily dinnerware. Can be mixed and matched with other collections I have.... If you like artsy, you will love any of the patterns made by this company..... Great buy and beautiful patterns.... I chose these because they match my kitchen colors. I LOVE THEM!!!!! Also I received the bowls and two were broken and customer service here is great.... I shop online alot, and there isnt better customer service than overstock. They do what they say!!!!

I've seen similar items at high-end stores at MUCH higher prices but the bowl from Overstock exceeded my expectations. It was a gift for a dear friend and she loved it. The bowl is very large and she uses it for fruit. It's gorgeous and a real "statement" piece for display all on its own. Highly recommend it.

These are charming serving pieces for an informal party. The size varies somewhat since they are individually created from tree roots.

They are charming and interesting to use for a medium size salad bowl.
Dinner tables are set differently depending on the type of dinnerware and what food is served. Casual dinner table settings provide each person with the three basic pieces of silverware while formal dinner table settings provide guests with a separate piece of silverware for each course served. Plates, bowls, silverware, napkins and glasses are all part of the necessary dinnerware for setting the table. Having separate dinnerware sets for both formal and casual dining events is very helpful for setting the table appropriately.
Drinking glasses come in all shapes and sizes, from small tumblers designed to hold only a few ounces to large brandy snifters that hold 17.5 ounces. Each style of drinking glassware serves a specific purpose. Some are designed to direct the aroma of wine or brandy to the nose before drinking, while others are built for durability during high-spirited toasts. Drinking glasses are often classified by the presence or absence of a stem and the style of bowl. The shape of the glass, combined with the fluid capacity, enables each piece of glassware to fill a particular role when serving beverages.

Preparing and serving home-cooked meals is an incomparable joy, especially when it all goes smoothly. The secret to ensuring a smooth, effortless meal is adequate space -- storage space for dishes and utensils and space to serve the entrees. That's why buffets make such popular pieces of dining room furniture. And thanks to their size, shape and storage utility, buffets are also versatile accent tables that are useful just about anywhere. Vocabulary might have something to do with the reason buffet tables aren't put to more use outside the dining room, but this dining room furniture can be used in many different ways throughout your home. Consider these tips when buying and using buffet tables and other dining room tables.
For most people, the days are gone where you reserve the dining room table for special occasions like Thanksgiving dinner. The dining table once stayed in a room of its own, closed off from the rest of the house. These days, the dining table serves as an essential focal point in many homes, particularly those with open floor plans that afford views of the dining area from the living room, kitchen or entryway. Keep your look fresh and sophisticated by decorating your dining room table with functional and stylish pieces.

Then, take a cue from the theme of your event and find pieces that will enhance the party mood and add color to the room.
What is lovelier than the sparkle of slender crystal champagne flutes and the fine, graceful bowls of crystal wine glasses? Fine crystal stemware is a joy to use and to behold. However, because of the delicate (and pricey) nature of crystal, it requires a bit more care than your regular glass dishes and cups. Here are some key steps to preserving and caring for your crystal stemware so that it will remain as beautiful as the day you bought it for generations to come.
Many bowls and plates are considered microwave safe; however, if you use the wrong dish, you could ruin both the dinnerware and the dinner. Microwaves are convenient appliances, but there are a few precautions you should know about when it comes to your dishes. Always check to see if a dish is microwave safe before using it in the microwave. Some containers can break, melt or scald you. Some containers can also damage your microwave, such as foil-lined containers. Microwave-safe dishes can be used to both cook and store food. Non-microwave safe containers can only be used for storage or serving.
