I purchased this shawl as a birthday gift to myself, opened it up to check it after it arrived..and wore it for a few hours until I reminded myself that I can't have it yet. It's a very luxurious weave and design - it was obviously woven by a master craftsman in this field of art. The corners of the inside design (within the borders of the outside design) are more open-weave; almost the appearance of mesh, but it's actually a wider weave without as much filler cashmere. I've never actually seen such a fine shawl as this one - and I regularly shop in a Kashmiri store every time I visit Asia. I didn't really know what to expect, but this shawl far exceeded expectations. I also believe that with it being of such a quality, that it could become a family heirloom. Buy with care, these aren't shawls that you toss at the end of a season - they're woven with care to last you a lifetime.
