The elegant porcelain design of this lamp is a recreation of a vase from the Ming Dynasty. The rich red porcelain of the base is nicely complemented by a butter-tone thick paper shade.
The Story Behind the Product
This factory is located in the Guangdong region of mainland China. The father is the main person in charge and employs many family members. Day to day operations are run by an aunt while the son is being groomed to take over once his father retires - all of this family greatly adds to the quality and productivity of this factory. Over 300 skilled and non-skilled craftsman work together, passing knowledge and craftsmanship from generation to generation. The working conditions of this group are excellent. The factory provides an excellent lunch each day for the staff. Attending strictly to the local and international anti-dumping and fair trade practice laws, Oriental Homes is proud to bring a piece of their culture into your home.

There is no red on this lamp. Solid Green base. Looks like a $500 lamp.

Love This Lamp!
This is a beautiful lamp. Striking accent piece. The basket style base is contrasted nicely by the square lamp shade with the lacing around the top and bottom. Unfortunately, the lamp shade is very fragile- it arrived with a split on one of the sides. I agree with the previous reviewer who stated the lamp appears substantial and expensive.
- Did the color match the color displayed onsite? The description on the site states it has red accents, it doesn't. But the green is gorgeous.

Beware the Shade
This lamp is very attractive, but beware the lampshade. It is made of paper, so does not ship very well. I ordered 2 lamps... both shades were broken. Overstock was great about the situation (although they sent two whole new lamps rather than just shades.) When I received the new lamps, one shade had a split at the seam. I've decided to fix it rather than to ship it back and wait for yet another shade. Otherwise, the lamps looks great. The green color is very beautiful.
