Story Behind the Art:
Bima Trading retains the services of various artisans spread throughout Indonesia to handcraft the furniture that we design for the United States market. These artisans work from home in their villages. Every village specializes in a particular craft and style. Bima, in conjunction with what we term a coordinator, ensures that the village production team has the timber, the drawings and the other essentials to craft the product into the specialty of that particular area. Each village has its own specialized sets of tools to complete their aspect of the crafting of the furniture. The work in progress is then moved to the next village for further enhancements, which include polishing, spraying and finishing. In the final process, our coordinator will take charge of the products and have them checked, boxed and placed in the container ready for shipment to the United States. We have working under our direction, in an informal manner, some 60 artisans and their helpers. In order to maintain consistency, each batch is crafted by the same teams.

The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.

Excellent Value
I've had this bench in my entry area for over a year now, and love it. It is sturdy, stylish, and exactly as described. It is wonderfully versatile and could be used anywhere you'd like a heavy wooden bench.

the wood is beautiful and the bench is very sturdy
I was not disappointed with this bench. It is very heavy and the grain of the wood is just outstanding...it has a sheen to it

I love it so much
I saw this bench at a model home. I love going to model homes and take picture for inspiration. I was looking for a bench for our upstairs hallway and didn't have any luck finding the right piece. once I saw this bench at overstock, I remembered from the model home but was little worried from other reviewers' comments on color hard to find matching decor. It was no problem for me. I used two square walnut frames above (22"X22") it and it looks awesome. I wish I can share the photo. I can't be happier.
