Roman Glass and Gemstone Copper Necklace (Israel)

I like this pendant, although I think the dark gemstone on the bottom is a bit too big - it almost overpowers the feature that should be showcased, ie, the Roman glass. No regrets about this purchase, though. It's pretty. The real drawback about this necklace is the chain that it's on, which can be seen in the photo - it's okay looking, but it's a pain to use. A normal clasp on the chain would have greatly improved the quality and wearability of this necklace. I plan on putting the pendant on a different copper chain.

I've purchased Roman glass from Overstock before, so I was therefore surprised at the poor workmanship displayed on this necklace.

I loved the idea of giving my sister, a lover of history, a necklace containing glass from the Roman Empire! And, it was a beautiful piece (at least in the picture). When I received it, my heart sunk. It's so small and light--the copper chain so cheap-looking. My sister still loved it because of its uniqueness and she believes that with time the copper chain's appearance will improve.
