Product details:
Commenting on fine ceramics, Rocio Castillo says, "Quality is more important to us than quantity." The Castillo family has many years of experience handcrafting and teaching other artisans in Talavera-style ceramics in Guanajuato, Mexico. Their workshop seeks to preserve this traditional, world-renowned ceramic style. Although true Talavera ceramics are made only in the city of Puebla, the techniques are also practiced by artisans in Guanajuato. Talavera dates from the colonial period when Spanish priests taught indigenous peoples to craft ceramics using Majolica techniques. Over the centuries, Talavera evolved as a style of its own. It takes nearly a week long process to create the Talavera-style ceramics.

Ceramic Plate
I jordered this decorative plate for my dgt's new home, as a Christmas Gift. The order was placed jon Dec. 3, 2011 I did not receive the plate until Dec. 23, 2011. I then had to send it to her, so the gift was late in arriving for the holiday. I now understand that when ordering international gifts, it takes more time for delivery. However I believe this information should be posted aljong with the item.

- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Quality is good
- How accurate was the sizing? correct size as stated
