Born of a desire to reduce India's mountain of waste, improve energy efficiency and help some of Delhi's poorest out of the city's slums, Conserve India began to achieve all this by turning plastic bags into high fashion. Conserve started as a fledgling recycling project but quickly adapted to confront the biggest challenge it was facing, what to do with the thousands of plastic bags that could not be composted or recycled locally.

The strap is too short!
This bag was neatly designed with recycled materials although the strap was way too short. I had to re-gift it to a shorter friend!

Nice bag
I like this bag. It is a good size, the adjustable strap is great, and the combined velcro and zipper closure is very secure. I have gotten lots of compliments and inquiries about where I got it. Bad points: 1) The lining of the cover has unfinished edges which fray to the single row of stitching very quickly. I used super glue all around the edge to stop it, and it seems to have worked. 2) There is no reinforcement of the (thin) nylon sides where the straps are attached, and the material is tearing and about to rip through. I may have been carrying too much weight in the bag, but it seems like this should have been thought of. They went out of their way to securely stitch the straps to the bag, so I'm surprised that they didn't ensure that the material was able to withstand the stress. I'm going to try to fix it though, because I really like the bag!
