looks as decribed , needs a 25 watt bulb , a regular bulb is too bright , bulbs are sold at a lot of places and they are enexpensive . the only negative thing about the lamp is the wiring inside of the lamp and cut glass on the outside of the lamp . if not picked up very carefully it could cut you . all in all it looks fantastic and i would order it again if i had to . great conversation piece !

I got it for our living room. It looks nice and elegant. Not having an on/off switch can be an issue. Bulb is visible from outside. Overall, nice buy for the price.

I too shredded my hand trying to get the bulb in this lamp. Then, I discovered the secret: the base that holds the light bulb screws off. Two little screws that I twisted with my fingers... didn't even need tools! I took off the base, inserted the bulb, replaced the bulb, and no more shredded hands! And, the lamp is beautiful!

This lamp is much prettier in person. It is a little difficult to get the lightbulb in without hurting yourself. And, a 40 watt bulb is a bit too bright. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. I have never found anything else like it.

This lamp is absolutely beautiful and like nothing I've seen in any store. The unique qualities are enhanced by being handmade with tie-wire, which could be replaced by a strong, heat resistant glue if you don't like it. The only problem is that the tie-wire was not properly installed by laying it down or folding it over with needle nose pliers, which I did and its much easier on my hands when putting in the the bulb. All in all, it is worth having such an incredible piece in my home!

This is a very beautiful lamp that looks exactly like the picture; however it would be nice to see a picture with the light bulb turned on inside the lamp. A regular 40 watt bulb shines right through and is not very attractive. I am going to try various bulbs until I find one that I like.

This is lovely - does not provide useful light - but does provide a pretty radiance in the evening. I put it it on a pedestal for display - but also because at the higher level I am hoping no one will get hurt by sharp edges I do not recommend for families with kids

Gets high marks because it's so unique, fun addition.. Not only does it work as a lamp, looks great too. Low lighting - feels like candle light (only use a 20 watt bulb max). Very delicate, and the edges are extremely sharp!! I use gloves to hold/pick-up. Definitely recommend!

I think I may have been missing the bottom piece that holds the light fixture in place. So I'm using it as a centerpiece.

I had a feeling about this lamp. It looked cool in the pics and sounded really great. There were also positive reviews so i took a chance. It is a very unique lamp. I got it within a week like I usually do from Overstock. It actually came Fed-Ex and was not broken. I bought several bulbs to try and right now, a party bulb in "teal" looks great. I also bought a dimmer switch as i don't like how there is only a cord that plugs in (no switch), so now there is a switch and dimmer. Great purchase. I'm super happy with this stylish lamp.

great looking lamp different then any lamp you find in a store -

This is a pretty cool lamp. It definately has a hand made look to it.But it is unusual and I like it for that. A nice glow with a super low watt bulb.

Lamp is unique. Edges are extremely sharp when trying to put the light bulb in. Cord is WAY too long and doesn't have a on/off switch. I replaced the cord easily enough. Overall, a different lamp in a good way.

The lamp is beautiful! Mine came with clear glass, which appears green at the edges. The lamp is better made than I thought it would be after reading the other reviews. The wires holding the glass together are very secure. Also, as mentioned before there is no on/off switch. This is fine with me, I have it on a timer. The lightbulb is slightly visible through the glass when the lamp is off ( I use a CFL which looks a little odd). Highly recommend.

I am a collector or lamps. This is sooo beautiful the pictures do it no justice. If you are in contemporary or modern this lamp is very unique. You can not find it any where & I have received many compliments. Great buy & great holiday gift !!

I just received these lamps(I ordered 2) just about a week ago. I am very pleased with the 'look' of them, but they are a bit smaller than I had hoped. I must admit, I really didn't pay attention to the actual dimensions when ordering. I did order them for nitestand lamps, but really think they are still too small for my low profile bedroom set. On the upside, they ARE really beautiful lamps and the construction is very good. I read the reviews before ordering and see that many people expressed concern about installing the lightbulb, however one review 'jumped' out at me and said there was a screw on the bottom of the base to alleviate that 'shredding' your hands issue. You just have to flip it over and remove the one screw and put in the lightbulb and screw it back into the base of the lamp. I do agree that a regular lightbulb is way too bright, low wattage is better or maybe even one that gives off soft light. I also tried a low wattage (25w) colored bulb..that was the best for me. I used orange and it gives a really nice ambient glow. Makes it look even more beautiful. I am still considering returning them, but trying desperately to see if I can use them elsewhere in my home. I also see that the price has dropped and there are other options in the same material that were not available when I ordered mine. I may even return them just to get another 'shape' of the same lamp if I finally find another place in my home to use them.

I was excited about getting this after I ordered it; but when I opened it and set it up, I was VERY disappointed! Like one of the other buyers said, you almost shred your hand when putting in the light bulb...that is only a minor complaint though because that is something I can deal with. BUT, it has no switch to turn it on/off, you have to plug it in each time you want to use it. Also, it's not really "illuminating" like you would think...you can see the ugly lightbulb straight through the glass. They spent too much time tying the glass together, which is great, but spent NO time making it functional. I am returning mine, unless Overstock offers a very deep discount for the money I would have to spend to "fix" the brand new lamps. Very disappointing because they are very beautiful!

I am so glad I got this lamp. I absolutely love it and will keep it forever. It gives such a nice, soothing light and looks perfect with my color scheme of sea blue/green, black and taupe.

These lamps are beautiful. We bought one for each night stand. They light up the room great with their beautiful green blue glass. I would recommend this lamp to anyone especially those in the market for recycled glass.
