Story Behind the Art
This product was created in a region near the India/Pakistan border. When the British Army removed from the region in the late 1940s, most of the industries that made the local economy went with them. The indigenous people returned to the traditional crafts that they had known for generations. Several hub cities of industry have flourished, creating numerous, sustainable, and stable jobs for the people of the surrounding villages, helping in the time between harsh growing seasons. These industries form a valuable alternative means of providing for families, especially for women in the area. Profits from these workshops have created an unprecedented number of schools, hospitals and infrastructure improvements in the area. This industry has truly created an economic renaissance in the region.

great side table
This is the third set of these tables that I have purchased. I use them as night stands in projects. They add a bid of whimsy and are a nice alternative to your regular night stand. They are made well and are solid teak. They have a waxed finish that I really like. Good product. I've seen them for $400 each on a different web site.

it is an urban table, has defects but it works with the style of the table, I got a matching table different shape and love the combo in my family room.

Exactly what I wanted, so glad I bought it!
What a great table! I am so glad I got this reclaimed wood table, it is perfect next to my bed (replacing matchy matchy bedside tables, yuk!), and the colors are perfect. It was so easy to put together, and it looks stunning. Mine came with a small split in one of the legs, but I wanted to keep the table and repair it myself, so Overstock gave me a very fair credit to compensate me for the problem! If they had a matching sideboard or dresser, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!
