Is this finished on the back so that it might be viewed from any angle?
Bought the first one years ago, and was excited that the exact same piece was still available to complete the set. Very pretty wood and good construction. Drawers are a bit rough and rustic, but I like that....

Story Behind the Art:
This product was created in North Western India. Once the British removed its armed forces from the region in the late 40s, a majority of the industries available for the local economy disappeared with them. The indigenous people went back to the traditional crafts and furniture manufacturing that they had known for generations. Several hub cities of industry have flourished, creating numerous, sustainable, and stable jobs for the people of the surrounding villages, to augment the time in between harsh growing seasons. The industry that has been created by products like this has created an unprecedented number of schools, hospitals, and improvements in infrastructure.
The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.

We ordered two of these they came on time by UPS. The out side of the Cartons were in great shape. When we opened the first one it looked like the picture and the description was fairly accurate. the second one had a crushed front corner top.Sent back. New one came on time. Drawer slide cracked and broken the right front leg was cracked= No Good. Sent back. Third one a charm The UPS Lady was even more thrilled the us. she was definitely tired of luggen' those things to and from the house.. when you buy furniture made Overseas you must be able to maintain a cool head or you won't get what you want.Read More
We are very happy with the side table. We took it out of the box and set it where we wanted it and filled up the drawers. It is a good height next to the chair and we can vacuum and/or sweep under it.Read More
I have been looking for the perfect table for my spare bedroom for YEARS - and I've finally found it! It's very sturdy and well-made, and the design is very well proportioned. The reclaimed wood looks very nice. I was concerned that the nail holes and flaws in the wood would be very obvious, but I think there is just the right amount. It comes fully assembled, which was a huge bonus, and it was very well packaged to prevent damage. Overall, I'm very happy with it, but there are a couple of things that I want to point out. First, the wood is darker than teak usually is, so it doesn't match my other teak furniture (which to me seems like the normal color of teak you see on boats). It's not a huge difference, so maybe it's just the varnish or color variation between pieces. The second thing is that it seems much smaller than I expected, even though it fits the dimensions in the description. I think it's something about the design that makes you imagine a bureau rather than a bedside table.Read More
We ordered two for night tables although they could be used any where in the house. They are just the right height for our bed. Drawers are not on glides but have stops so they do not pull out. Finish is great. The table comes fully assembled.Read More
The table arrived in days & in perfect condition. It's a relief to be able to order furniture that comes fully assembled! The table is very solid & measures exactly as advertised. The wood is a beautiful shade, with natural imperfections. It more than met expectations. This table is heavy & shipping would have cost a fortune from anyone else.Read More
I settled on this table, even though it wasn't exactly what I was looking for, simply because I could not find the right size, finish, etc. in regular stores. Most new nightstands are either gigantic or very low, in a mid-century-modern sort of way. Its appearance was very true to the photograph. The wood is fairly reddish in tone, if that matters to you. Some reviewers commented on the distressed look (hello people, what do you think "reclaimed" means?), but the pieces I received were pretty new-looking. More so, in fact, than I prefer. Any flaws had been turned to the back or inside, probably to satisfy what they imagine the American consumer would want. Again, I want a more rustic look. So in order to age and "gray out" my pieces, I am letting them weather outside for a couple of weeks. We'll see how that goes. In addition, I am replacing the top two pulls with Chinese motif hardware, to give them a more exotic, less Shaker look. The drawers slide OK, though I can't say as smoothly as those on glides. The only real drawback is that the drawers are not very big. For many people, that might not matter. But if you keep lots of books and magazines in your nightstand, you'll have to pare down. Still, at 25", these are a nice height for those who dislike tables that loom higher than your bed. Overall a good value for the price.Read More
Really beautiful. It's not cheap, but it's worth it for the beauty of the wood alone. The drawers work well, the whole thing is very simply constructed, but solid. Mine also had a nick in one corner as other reviewers mentioned, but I think this happened before shipping, as it was quite well packed with supports on the corners. The slight damage is not noticeable when in place as a bedside stand, and it doesn't bother me. I really love this table and wish there were other pieces that coordinated (other than the three drawer version). Please stock more like this, Overstock!Read More
Questions & Answers
One of our customer reviewers from New Mexico actually states "It looks good from the back."
What kind of joints are used in this furniture? The person who wrote the worst review implied that the joinery may be amateurish. Do they use any dovetails, laps, or mortises or are they mostly all just butt joints?
Thank you for your interest. The main structural joints in this nightstand are mortise and tenon joints. The rest of the joints are dado joints.
What are the dimensions does anybody know? IT LOOKS gREAT
The overall dimensions are 26 inches high x 20 inches wide x 16 inches deep.
