Story Behind the Art:
Walter Paucar Velarde continues his family's weaving legacy. 'My father was a well-known weaver who won several national prizes, and many of his finest works ended up in Europe,' he says with obvious pride. 'I began working with him when I was 14 years old. I am full-time weaver of tapestries. My wife also weaves and we transmit the beauty and tradition of our hometown to the rest of the world.'
