Story Behind the Art:
This handcrafted item and many others come from a third-generation, family-run workshop in mainland China. Their skills of hand-painting, hand-rubbed lacquering and hand-tooling have been passed down for many generations. We are proud to support them in their quest to keep their age-old techniques alive for future generations. Many of the artists are hired out of semi-retirement to work from home, training the next generation to become master craftsmen. These masters are highly respected in their craft and their culture which have survived through many Chinese dynasties and continue to produce valuable and desirable pieces for your home decor.

very nice!
I'm very pleased with this planter. It complements the asian antiques I've inherited. The quality is such that it fits right in! Because my planter is sitting on a sideboard, I opted for a flat, 2" tall stand rather than the tall one shown in the photo. Please note that stands are not included with these planters, but I agree with the marketing decision to show how nice that tall stand displays this lovely piece of pottery! If my planter sat on the floor, I would get the stand shown. There are no drainage holes in this fishbowl so if you are using for a plant, be sure your pot will fit inside & take careful measurements. All this info is in the description , but I noticed the other reviewer missed reading that the stand isn't included. It's unfair that she lowered her rating of this nice pot due to her lack of reading the info. I highly recommend this pot. And check out the other colors & patterns, as I had 2 choices for blue and white. It was not easy to choose between them!
