This watercolor and ink artwork features a traditional rendering of a crane perched on a pine branch. Each one is hand painted on silk covered rice paper, matted with fine silk brocade, and attached to a rosewood scroll rod. A silk strap hanger is attached to the top for easy mounting. The piece is painted and matted by artisans in the Hunan province, mainland China.
The Story Behind the Product
This factory is located in the Guangdong region of mainland China. The father is the main person in charge and employs many family members. Day to day operations are run by an aunt while the son is being groomed to take over once his father retires - all of this family greatly adds to the quality and productivity of this factory. Over 300 skilled and non-skilled craftsman work together, passing knowledge and craftsmanship from generation to generation. The working conditions of this group are excellent. The factory provides an excellent lunch each day for the staff. Attending strictly to the local and international anti-dumping and fair trade practice laws, Oriental Homes is proud to bring a piece of their culture into your home.

it's nice, but
I am re-doing my living room and thought this scroll would look great on both sides of my entertainment center. everything in the room is tan, black and/or white and thought that this scroll would look great as the orange color would bring some great color into the room and yet tie everything together with the neutral colors in the middle. the scroll is nice but when i received it, the back was not orange, it was navy blue. i am disappointed that it's blue and am not sure whether or not to return it...i can't decide if the blue clashes with all of the black in my room. it's very nice and worth the $ but i just don't particularly care for the blue. be careful b/c the colors certainly do vary.

Hanging Chinese roll designed with cranes
I decided to make my family room eclectic with items from around the word. Overstock has an ample stock of wall hangign and I have three Chinese ones, each more beautiful than the other. These are good choices, if you want to go a different way than the regular blah room with just hanging pictures.

Lovely, colorful scroll
This is a good value. The border is a light, navy blue with the picture of the cranes inset in cream with various colors of black, white, red, and aqua. It is large and makes a big impact in the room. Highly recommended

Beautiful Crane Hanging
The wall hanging is beautiful. The outside border is a beautiful deep blue, the colors are vibrant with aqua. It's a real show piece. I did look at the measurements, but it's longer than I imagined. You need a very tall wall, it fits very well in my bedroom on the wall with the cathedral ceiling.
