Story Behind the Art:
Peruvian artisan Zosimo Laura comes from a family of weavers in Ayacucho, renowned for its handicrafts. Like his grandparents and brothers, Zosimo works on a traditional handloom. Forced to abandon Ayacucho due to turmoil and violence, Zosimo and his family moved to an urban center where they faced innumerable obstacles. Nonetheless, his dedication has allowed him to succeed. His goal is to teach his children the textile art when they are old enough.

Slides too much on tile or laminate
see above: The rug is a work of art, and should be hung, not trodden on. It is the same on both sides, and has no backing, making it slide around even with a pad. I am going to try it with a "gripper" rug pad and see what happens. This is rough, thick strands of wool. The patterns and pictures are wonderful, but I don't know if I can actually use it for a rug.
