    Story Behind the Art:

    Kashan, in North Central Iran, is surrounded by desert and marginal land that does not provide a source of good wool. In previous generations, their main source of wool was the UK, a fine, soft garment wool harvested from Merino sheep. Since 1930, Sabzavar, a neighboring province, has provided raw materials to Kashan. Kashan are the most conservative of all Persian rugs. Though not as adventurous as other styles, their quality is consistently high. Many great Kashan rugs come from home production, and range from Bazaar quality to high-end, ultra fine.

    What is Worldstock?

    The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.



    Tip: We recommend the use of a non-skid pad to keep the rug in place on smooth surfaces.
