Story Behind the Art:

The Kashmar Persian rug is a rare and time-honored beauty, handmade by the Persian people living in the province of Khorasan in Eastern Iran. Kashmar carpets are easily distinguishable because of their large size and their unique patterns that borrow design features from different regions. Some have panels with tree motifs on a ground and, between them, a panel with a dome and some minarets set under a column arch with a floral repetition on a beige ground on the main border. Another common pattern is a pictorial that tells the story of a significant occurrence or entity in Persian history.
