Story Behind the Art:
Tabriz rugs are among the most beautiful and legendary carpets ever built. Many rugs produced in Tabriz are attempting to follow the incredible artistry of the Persian Safavid rugs. Tabriz managed to keep these ancient traditions alive, in spite of all the conquering and political restructuring. This particular rug was made by the Turkish speaking people in the Tabriz region, by Ali B. and his family. They dye the wool, weave the rug and then take it to the washing and shearing facility before taking it to the market for sale.
