Story Behind the Art:
'I mostly had to learn on my own and now I feel I've mastered this craft,' says Indri Irawati from Madura. 'I have always believed in the design and quality of my handbags, and it inspired me to overcome whatever difficulties came my way. I prefer to work with pandanus leaves, rattan and leather and with different batik styles and techniques including hand-drawn batik, chop combination batik, and printed batik. I dream of becoming well-known around the world for my handbag designs. It is a big dream!'
