Story Behind the Art:
Tribal bokhara rugs are made by nomads in Pakistan who spend years weaving each intricate detail into these rugs, specifically Mr. Mehta and his family. The original design of the rug originated in Turkmenistan. They are made on portable wooden looms typically with wool pulled from the tribe's sheep each year. They obtain their dyes naturally from local vegetables, flowers, tree bark, minerals, and insects. Graphs, or blueprints for the patterns, are used more often today but true masters create signature designs and color combinations showing their skill.
The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.
Tip: We recommend the use of a non-skid pad to keep the rug in place on smooth surfaces.
All rug sizes are approximate. Due to the difference of monitor colors, some rug colors may vary slightly. We try to represent all rug colors accurately. Please refer to the text above for a description of the colors shown in the photo.

The rub was fine but the fringe was terrible and actually unraveling! It was made from very thick cotton twine and not well knotted. I was going to send it back and I turned my back and my lovable dog chewed a hole right in the middle!! I think she agreed with me.Read More

I would order these rugs again. The quality is good. I ordered four and they are all the same size and color. The only reason I did't give an excellent is because I saw a similar rug in an exclusive Department Store and psychologicallly my mind wants to believe that the more expensive rug was a little better quality. I don't really think it's the case, however. I think they are the same. I like them and they serve a useful purpose in heavily trafficked areas in my home.Read More
I love this rug. i use it as a walkway between the kitchen and den. The dogs and kids cross it often and it is holding up very well. It is soft and plush and has minimal shedding. If you are looking for a bright red rug, then this is not for you. The red is a deeper richer red but it suits my decor and stands out beautifully against my Brazilian Cherry floors.Read More
