Story Behind the Art:
Tribal bokhara rugs are made by nomads in Pakistan who spend years weaving each intricate detail into these rugs, specifically Mr. Mehta and his family. The original design of the rug originated in Turkmenistan. They are made on portable wooden looms typically with wool pulled from the tribe's sheep each year. They obtain their dyes naturally from local vegetables, flowers, tree bark, minerals, and insects. Graphs, or blueprints for the patterns, are used more often today but true masters create signature designs and color combinations showing their skill.
The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.
Tip: We recommend the use of a non-skid pad to keep the rug in place on smooth surfaces.
All rug sizes are approximate. Due to the difference of monitor colors, some rug colors may vary slightly. We try to represent all rug colors accurately. Please refer to the text above for a description of the colors shown in the photo.

This rug is perfect. I was torn between this one and the "black and beige" of the same style for a bathroom I had redone with woven leather charcoal walls. The picture looked a bit on the bluish side with peach accents and it actually was shades of gray as in the description with terra cotta accents. Exactly what I was hoping.Read More
I got this rug to use in a guest bathroom and am very happy with it. It arrived in 3 days, and is of thick wool. The gray color is slightly darker, and the tan slightly brighter than on my computer monitor, but it looks very nice. The tag states that it is "child labor free" which I appreciated. Overall a good buy.Read More
