Story Behind the Art:
Tribal bokhara rugs are made by nomads in Pakistan who spend years weaving each intricate detail into these rugs, specifically Mr. Mehta and his family. The original design of the rug originated in Turkmenistan. They are made on portable wooden looms typically with wool pulled from the tribe's sheep each year. They obtain their dyes naturally from local vegetables, flowers, tree bark, minerals, and insects. Graphs, or blueprints for the patterns, are used more often today but true masters create signature designs and color combinations showing their skill.

Gorgeous, well-made and reasonably priced
Gorgeous in grey, this runner has a lovely, lustrous finish and is soft underfoot. The pile height is quite adequate and it lays flat, even, and straight. I could not be more pleased with this purchase!

lovely rug
Got this runner for our galley kitchen. Looks very nice and the rug is of good quality. However, very dusty as the underside of rug keeps releasing a whitish dust which needs to be vacuumed often. Could it have been sitting in the warehouse too long where it collected dust? I wonder... in any case, a lovely quality rug which really adds to our white kitchen.

Nice colors
This rug had nice colors and I think good value for the money. Unfortunately the one I received had a flaw which looked like an ink spot. Would not have worked for me but could be lovely in the right spot. It would take a while to get it to lay flat..did have creases.

Amazing color and texture
I have been searching for a great runner for our very long hallway and decided to give this Bokhara runner a try. I was so pleased when it arrived--the colors are beautiful and the feel of the rug is outstanding. The rug is interesting also because depending on the direction from which you look at it, the color is a deeper grey or a lighter bluish grey. I have seen some really nice (and crazy expensive) rugs in my search but I have to say this runner is of great quality and a great buy considering the price. Highly recommend.
