Story Behind the Art:
Tribal bokhara rugs are made by nomads in Pakistan who spend years weaving each intricate detail into these rugs, specifically Mr. Mehta and his family. The original design of the rug originated in Turkmenistan. They are made on portable wooden looms typically with wool pulled from the tribe's sheep each year. They obtain their dyes naturally from local vegetables, flowers, tree bark, minerals, and insects. Graphs, or blueprints for the patterns, are used more often today but true masters create signature designs and color combinations showing their skill.

I received the rug promptly after I ordered it. The colors were true to size and the rug is soft and fairly thick. I am very pleased with the rug. It blends in with my other oriental rug that I have in my dinning room. A great rug for a great price!

These are beautiful rugs. I also love the fact that child labor wasn't used in the weaving of these rugs. I plan to order several more in different sizes. Well done to the artisan and Overstock for supplying them to us.
