Story Behind the Art:
Tribal Persian rugs are made by nomads in Iran who spend years weaving each intricate detail into these rugs. They are made on portable wooden looms, typically with wool pulled from the tribe's sheep each year. They obtain their dyes naturally from local vegetables, flowers, tree bark, minerals and insects. Graphs, or blueprints for the patterns, are used more often today but true masters create signature designs and color combinations, showing their skill. The rug quality is also determined by the number of knots per square inch ranging from 30 to 600 knots. The more knots, the tighter the weave, creating a longer-lasting and much more detailed rug.

Love It
Don't be confused it is navy. And like any good rug, depending on your view, the background is ivory or tan/beige. Only wish you had more colors to choose from. I love it!

Great rug
I bought this rug and am returning it. It is very nice. Higher knots per square inch then I thought it would be. When I looked at this rug online I thought it was more of a cream and black. I was mistaken. The lighter colour is really more gold/tan and the dark is more of a dark blue. It is a great rug. The description says ivory, but not what I would call ivory. Really look carefully at the enlarged photos for the colour.
